Position: Substitute Teachers 
Hours/Days: hours vary based on assignment - $170 per day

ACCOUNTABILITY – Substitutes are accountable to the building principals.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS – QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Skills and Knowledge Required:  Minimum high school graduate. 
Preferred at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education; or 
Licenses, Certification, Bonding and/or Testing Required:  A criminal justice fingerprint clearance and Substitute certificate from OSPI
Physical Abilities:  Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, stoop, crouch, and reach, and demonstrate far visual acuity and accommodation.
Individual must demonstrate initiative and the ability to problem solve, as well as maintain confidentiality and recognize the proper channels of communication
Have a positive attitude and flexibility to work with all ages and different types of learners district-wide


GENERAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work effectively and appropriately in the school setting (classroom, lunchroom, outside, bus, hallways) with a student or groups of students.
Duty – Student Supervision during  morning, class time, afternoon, passing times and lunch.  
Plan and implement activities for students under teacher supervision according to written lesson plans and individualized education plans (IEPs).
Closely supervise students in all areas of the school environment (lunchroom, classroom, hallways, transitioning from one class to another, physical education program, on the bus and unloading and loading from the bus.)
Keep students on task in all educational settings so that they benefit.
Maintain data regarding student educational progress.
In concert with the teacher, manage the behavior of students within the classroom setting.
Follow directions as listed by the employee or building principal.
Keep the classroom in good order (pick up materials, straighten shelves, dust, clean tables, etc.).
Implement the educational plans left by the school teacher
Organize files, student assignments and projects,.
Perform other school duties as assigned.


NATURE OF POSITION
This person must be able to recognize teacher directions and understand student questions.  Must be able to communicate instruction to students in a clear and understandable manner.  Decision-making ability.  Must be able to concentrate around large and small groups of students.  Physical mobility.  This position earns $20 per hour with no added benefits.  You are able to set your own schedule
